Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Around twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Utility workers were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

During the peak on the previous day, over 28k power users in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
